Darlene's love of animals began when she grew up on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania. After moving to Florida with her family, Darlene began volunteering at Lake Area Animal Hospital when she was 17 years old. She has been a loyal and devoted full-time staff member since 1999, not only becoming head technician at our Melrose location, but also taking on responsibilities as Office Manager. Darlene graduated with an AS degree in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College in May and passed both her State and National Exams in June 2009 to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. She spends most of her free time with her husband William and their beautiful daughters Marissa and Mia. Darlene's two Dalmatian siblings Romeo and Goldberg, complete their family.

Lynda (and Jade)
Lynda joined us in 2006, but she has worked with animals all her life. As a young girl she started a dog walking & pet sitting service in her neighborhood. Lynda graduated from St. Petersburg College with an AS degree in Veterinary Technology in May. She passed both her State and National Exams in June 2009 to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Prior to going back to school, she lived on a farm with her children and approximately 200 animals which were part of her family's mobile petting zoo. Lynda downsized and now lives in Putnam County with her fiancé, 3 kitties, 3 Jack Russell Terriers, an Australian Shepherd and her 12 yr old Corgi Mix.
